TOLEDO (WTOL) - Time to hit the road this weekend at the Camp and Travel Regional RV Show at the SeaGate Centre in downtown Toledo.

The RVs are big and small, affordable and not so affordable.

Industry officials say the economy is good and folks have extra money for leisure spending.

Motorhome buyers enjoy going to campgrounds with the family or traveling across the country.

It’s a good lifestyle especially if you can afford the biggest and most expensive RV at the show: a 40-foot long, $299,000 Winnebago Horizon.

“It’s about three times out of my league. Two times out of my league but nice,” said shopper Mark Shafer.

But it’s a home on wheels.

Kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer and lots of storage space.

We’re told customers are between 50-65 years old and upgrade to larger creampuffs like this.

Who care if it only gets eight miles a gallon.

“We get all kinds of situations. Some live full time in them. Some people move from one place to another. Still have a home base,” said Delta RV dealer Terry Shafer.

But trailers you can haul with your car, SUV or truck are still popular especially ones with a vintage retro look but offering new school features.

They cost anywhere from $15-20,000.

Many have a stove, air conditioning, microwave ovens, a bed, you name it.

All the comforts of a tiny home.

“Lots of the old crowd likes to relive their younger days back in the fifties. Pretty cool look really,” said Young’s RV Center salesman Shawn Rutkowski.

The RV show is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
