TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The Toledo Zoo has increased its admission prices and membership rates for the first time since 2009, and it's giving discounts to Lucas County residents.
"As of January 2, our prices increased slightly. New this year we've introduced a different pricing structure for Lucas County residents. Because they've supported us over the years with our operating levies, and our capital levies we felt it was important to offer a discount because of their continued support", says Toledo Zoo Spokesperson Andi Norman.
Daily admission between January-February and November-December for a Lucas County resident is $5 adult, $3.50 child, and for a non-Lucas County resident it's $7 adult, $5.50 child.
Admission between March and October for a Lucas County resident is $12 adult, $9 child and senior, and for a non-Lucas County resident it's $14 adult, $11 child and senior.
Annual family memberships have increased from $71 to $73 for a family in Lucas County, $79 for others.
"We're still very affordable at these rates and also we're still very competitive in this region, because we have a lot of great zoos in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana", says Norman.
