TPD continue to look for Tyler McIntoush's killer

The mother of a 16-year-old murder victim is continuing to look for answers more than a year after her son’s death.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - The mother of a 16-year-old murder victim is continuing to look for answers more than a year after her son's death.

In July of 2014, 16-year-old Tyler McIntoush was shot multiple times after walking a friend home around 3 a.m.

For the past year, detectives have been working on the case, but there is still no motive, eye witnesses, or leads.

"As well as any homicide, it's a sad occurrence, but we are talking about a life of a 16-year-old kid who didn't have the opportunity to live his life," said Sgt. Tim Campbell.

McIntoush is describes by many as a good, respectful and hardworking kid.

"My son would have been a senior this year and it hurts so bad, because we had so many plans after graduation," said Oleen Clinton, Tyler's mother. "Tyler didn't do anything wrong or do anything to deserve this. He gave his life so another life would make it home safely."

And with no gang affiliations or enemies, investigators are having a hard time figuring out why Tyler's death happened and who is responsible.

"It hurts to know the person who murdered my son is still able to walk the streets, still able to live their life, able to spend time with their children, if they have any, or their family," said Clinton. "I'm just please, begging the community to step forward and do the right thing, so I can have justice for Tyler,"

"I know the stigma in the neighborhood is to not be a snitch, but we're talking about something more important, were talking about somebody's life," said Campbell.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to have the courage to come forward. If you have any information that could help the police, call Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111.

In addition to the Crime Stopper reward, the Maritime Academy, where Tyler was a student, also has a reward available. The school and its foundation have a cash reward ready to hand out to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of Tyler's killer.
