Stoney and Goldie Thompson were indicted Friday for a triple homicide on Ohio Street in North Toledo that happened in October 2006.
It was a 911 call that led police to the house. A witness heard gunfire and had seen several suspects running out the back.
And inside?
Toledo police Capt. Diana Ruiz-Krause said, "It's a very complicated crime scene." She also added, "There is some indication that there was drug activity going on in the home."
Toledo police have released the identities of the three victims, all male. They are 44-year-old Todd Archambeau, 41-year-old Kenneth Nicholson, and 44-year-old Michael York.
Police say when they responded to the home they found the men with stab wounds, and two appeared to have been shot. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
No one was supposed to be in the boarded-up house. It has no utilities and is in foreclosure. These dwellings dot the north end neighborhood. An eyesore to most, they sometimes attract the worst.
Bewildered longtime residents find themselves somewhere between scared and, by now, numb to the whole bloody mess.
Neighborhood resident Carl Jackson explained his feelings as "in awe, but not in shock because right now the area has not been patrolled the way it should."
Another neighbor, Jim Hollman said, "Kinda getting used to it lately... You hear it so much. It's not only here.. It's all over the place."
Three more murders. That's 28 in the city so far this year. Just one shy of all of last year.
