TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A win 5-2 Wednesday night against the Fort Wayne Komets sends the Toledo Walleye to the ECHL Conference Finals, and puts the team just two series wins away from their first-ever Kelly Cup.
The Walleye were deadlocked 3-3 in a seven game series with the Komets. Wednesday's meeting at the Huntington Center was winner take all.
Now the Walleye will take on the South Carolina Stingrays in another 7-game serious at the Huntington Center.
The winner of that series will then advance to the ECHL finals for a chance at the Kelly Cup.
