Water rates going up in Maumee

The City of Maumee buys their water from the City of Toledo, who has increased their bulk water base rate by 13.2 percent.

MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) - Water rates around the area are on the rise and it is the cities that get their water supply from Toledo who are the most affected.

The City of Maumee buys their water from the City of Toledo, who has increased their bulk water base rate by 13.2 percent.

Now, due to Toledo's increase, the City of Maumee has raised the Toledo portion of their water bills beginning in January.

"Residents will see an average of about $5 per quarter. The EPA says that the average consumption for a residential house hold is about 22,400 gallons per quarter," said Joe Camp, Director of the Public Service Department for the City of Maumee.
