TOLEDO, Ohio — Ahead of the April 8 total solar eclipse, local businesses and restaurants are offering menus inspired by the event. Here are restaurants, bars and cafes offering food dishes and drinks with solar eclipse-themed menu items.
The Attic - downtown Toledo
The bar, located on Adams Street, will open at 1 p.m. on April 8 and serve eclipse-themed cocktails and brews. Drink service will stop from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to allow staff to watch the eclipse.
Ballreich Snack Food Company - Tiffin, available online
Ballreich, a Tiffin-based company, is selling specialty white cheddar and black pepper "eclipse chips". These are available for purchase online.
Bell's - Area stores
The Michigan-based craft brewing company is selling an Eclipse Citrus Wheat beer.
Dietsch Brothers Chocolate and Ice Cream - Findlay
The sweets company is selling eclipse-themed chocolates and sweets, which you can find here.
Earnest Brew Works - Toledo
Ahead of the eclipse, Earnest Brew Works will offer the following two themed beers:
- German-style black lager called a Schwartz Bier
- Sun-Day banana split sundae-flavored Crunchy Hippie, to be featured at an Imagination Station tasting event
False Chord Brewing - Findlay
During a solar eclipse trivia night hosted by Imagination Station, trivia-goers can enjoy solar eclipse-themed beverages, according to the Visit Findlay event page. The trivia night will take place on March 28 at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free.
The brews include:
- Star at the Sun (Black IPA): Toasty notes of coffee with notes of citrus and candied orange peel
- Flux Obsidian (Black Seltzer): Made with squid ink, black currants, blackberries and black cherries
Franklin Park Mall - west Toledo
The mall's solar eclipse watch party will include eclipse-themed food and drinks, according to the mall's social media.
Flying Joe - Perrysburg location only
Available now through April 8 only, The Flying Joe's Perrysburg location in Levis Commons will offer several solar eclipse-themed drinks. The following drinks are listed on a specialty menu on their social media:
- Moon Pie Mocha
- Solar Éclair Cold Brew
- Lunar Lemonade
- The Black-Out Old Fashioned (contains alcohol)
- Blue Moon (contains alcohol)
Hensville - downtown Toledo
Hensville's solar eclipse party will begin at noon and last through 5 p.m. on April 8. During the event, eclipse-themed cocktails will be available for purchase. The event is free to the public, but an RSVP is required to secure Mud Hens/Walleye-themed eclipse viewing glasses.
Great Lakes Brewing Company - Cleveland
The Cleveland-based brewery, which sells their wares in northwest Ohio, has brewed a "Vanilla Blackout Stout" to celebrate the total solar eclipse starting March 22.
Great Wolf Lodge - Sandusky
During the watch party, a "Sunchaser" cocktail will be available as an adult beverage. Moon pies will also be for sale.
Imagination Station Total BrewClipse 2024 - Toledo
The downtown Toledo science center will hold an eclipse-themed beer tasting on April 6, featuring drinks from local breweries. Click here for more information about the event.
Kroger - Perrysburg
The Perrysburg Kroger location is selling eclipse-themed baked goods, alongside displays of Sun Chips and solar eclipse glasses.
Levi & Lilacs Coffee Pub - Maumee
The coffee pub is offering a solar eclipse latte with blueberry and white chocolate syrup, topped with star and moon sprinkles.
Levi & Lilacs Whiskey Room - Maumee
The restaurant and whiskey room will sell an eclipse-themed cocktail. A restaurant manager said details would be announced at a later date.
Maddie & Bella's Coffee Roasters - Downtown Toledo, Perrysburg
The coffee shop's specialty eclipse (and outerspace) themed menu items for the spring include the following:
- New Moon Latte
- Galaxy Quest
- Supernova Soda
Maumee Bay Brewing Company - Toledo
The downtown Toledo brewing company will be selling a series of total solar eclipse-themed beers, starting with their "Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout". According to a social media post by the brewery, the drink is one in a first of eclipse-themed drinks to come.
Summer Kitchen - Helen, Ohio
The Sandusky County tea shop will be offering eclipse-themed cakes and drinks on April 8 during "totali-tea".
Twin Oast Brewing - Port Clinton
During the brewery's eclipse watch party between 11 a.m. and 7 a.m., the taproom will offer a Coffee Blonde Ale called "Bean There, Seen That", specially brewed for the solar eclipse. Find out more here.

Starting March 12, the winery will offer a limited release Eclipse wine, according to the winery's website.
