TOLEDO, Ohio — After months of anticipation, the April 8 total solar eclipse is just about here!
The latest data is still looking optimistic for a mostly sunny afternoon in northwest Ohio. The further east and south you live, the more lingering clouds you'll see however.
Monday will start off cool and cloudy with temperatures in the mid to upper-40s after light rain overnight.
Cloud cover will quickly thin out by midday as you travel to your destination for viewing the total solar eclipse.
Temperatures will climb to the 60s as mainly sunny skies return into the afternoon.
Clearing skies will make for ideal viewing of the total solar eclipse.
It's worth noting that any clouds will be mostly wispy, upper-level clouds made out of ice crystals. Viewing conditions will be good, but any lingering clouds could make the Sun's corona look a bit fuzzier during totality with details a bit less visible.
High temperatures will likely top out around 68 degrees before dropping slightly during the darkness of totality.
Dry and mild weather is expected Monday evening for driving home after the eclipse.
Stay tuned to WTOL 11 for the forecast as we get closer and closer to the solar eclipse.
