TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - A threat written on the wall of a bathroom at St. Francis prompted a heightened alert at the school on Friday and Toledo Police to investigate on campus.

School representatives said the school is operating its normal day under a Level One lockdown and that they don't believe a threat is imminent.

During a Level One, students remain in the building and key fobs are deactivated.

According to a school spokeswoman, the threat was described as "vague" and it was believed to have been written earlier Friday.

"We are writing to inform you of a situation that has occurred today at St Francis. A threat was written on the wall of the bathroom, which was vague and we believe was written today. As always, we are on a Level One lockdown where all exterior doors are locked and visitors must be identified before being allowed in the building," a statement from St. Francis said.

"We are on heightened alert with an increased administrator presence in the classrooms, hallways and common areas. Additionally we have reached out to the police department as a precaution. Currently we are continuing with our academic day, we will keep you informed when we have updates."

"TPD is on campus now. We do not feel a threat is imminent at this time, we are operating our normal day under a Level One lockdown. Students will remain in the building and key fobs are deactivated."
