TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The Lucas County Sheriff's Office is investigating an alleged sexual assault involving a Lyft driver.
A woman in her 20's filed the complaint.
Early Tuesday morning, three local women all took a Lyft home from downtown Toledo.
Two were dropped off, but one of the girls requested to be taken to her home to let her dog out.
The driver was going to take cash for the extra stop, but at the advisement of her friend she ordered another Lyft on the app with the same driver instead.
Once he dropped her off, the driver stayed in the driveway for 15 minutes.
"When she came back outside he was still there and got out of his van. That's when he grabbed her, started fondling her all over her body. She yelled, he backed away got into his van," said Andy, the girl's father.
The girl immediately went inside and called 911.
The Lucas County Sheriff's Office is investigating what happened.
This dad knows many people use services like Lyft when they are out for the night drinking.
"People like this gentleman take advantage of that situation, and use the fact that these are responsible people but that they're drunk, to use them as a pool of prey because he knows for sure that the girls story will be questioned because she is inebriated at the time" said Andy.
The girls who were in the Lyft encourage those who use ride sharing apps to do it in groups.
Additionally, if a driver begins to act weird, end the ride immediately.
One of the girls in the car said that Lyft did reach out to her to make sure everyone was okay.
The Lucas County Sheriff's Office said that the driver is not driving for Lyft at this time.
It is unclear if that means he is banned for good.
