(Toledo News Now) - The Bengals hit the Motor City last weekend to take on the Lions, giving Toledo News Now a chance to catch up with former Central Catholic star Dane Sanzenbacher.
Three years into his professional career, Dane Sanzenbacher is a bit of a grizzled vet.
"I look back now on my comfort level on the field as a player," he said. "I just feel a lot better."
Sanzenbacher made his way to the Bears before getting cut. Now he's trying to find a role on the Bengals team that is loaded for the receiver position.
"It's a tough situation to be in, but it's a tough league to be in," he said.
He doesn't play every down – there are some games in which he barely plays – but somehow he keeps the faith. Sanzenbacher says he realizes now more than ever the league is a cold-hearted business, but that hasn't changed his love for the game.
"I'm having more fun now than I ever had in my career," he said.
He's been through ups and downs but no matter what, his pride, his passion and his joy remain as strong as ever.
