TOLEDO, Ohio — Last season, Toledo football was able to capture the Mid-American Conference championship, their first since 2017. Now, the Rockets will get the chance to go back-to-back.
UT beat Eastern Michigan 49-23 on Wednesday to clinch the MAC West title and punch their ticket to the conference title game.
The last time the Rockets won consecutive conference championships was when they captured three straight from 1969-71.
Toledo beat Ohio University last year for head coach Jason Candle's second conference crown, before beating Liberty in the Boca Raton Bowl. The Rockets are once again bowl-eligible this season.
The MAC championship game will be on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Ford Field in Detroit at noon.
UT finishes the regular season with road games at Bowling Green in the Battle of I-75 and Central Michigan.
