TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo women's basketball team is set to play in two nationally televised games this upcoming season, the Mid-American Conference announced on Wednesday.

The first game will be on Wednesday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. on CBS Sports Network when the Rockets play host to the University of Michigan at Savage Arena.

The other game selected for national TV is a road contest at Ball State on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m., also on CBSSN.

These two games will be the first time a regular season game will be nationally televised in Toledo women's basketball program history.

"We are thrilled to host our first-ever nationally televised regular season game this year versus Michigan. It will tip a little earlier than normal, but I know our Rocket fans will show up in full force. We are also happy to be on national television a second time when we visit Muncie to face Ball State," said head coach Tricia Cullop. "I am excited that the MAC is taking steps to increase the visibility of women's basketball. We are grateful to see six opportunities this season for our league members and hope to see that number grow in the years to come. We have a strong league that deserves more exposure."

There is also a potential for two more nationally televised games throughout the season for the Rockets.

The highest-ranked teams playing in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge in February will have their game selected by CBSSN on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. Also, one MAC game will be selected as a part of a 21-day wildcard selection and the game will be played on ESPNU on Wednesday, March 6 at 5 p.m.

Toledo is coming off one of the best seasons in program history. They won the MAC regular season championship, the conference tournament title and punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017.

The Rockets also won their first NCAA tournament game since 1996, beating Iowa State in the first round.

This season, UT will be welcoming back a large part of their team from a year ago, including their entire starting five.

They open their season on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. when they travel to Virginia to take on James Madison in the MAC-SBC Challenge.
