Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. among 4 Heisman Trophy finalists

Harrison Jr. is also a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is among four finalists for the 2023 Heisman Trophy.

The other finalists announced Monday evening include LSU's Jayden Daniels, Oregon's Bo Nix and Washington's Michael Penix Jr, all quarterbacks.

Harrison Jr. is coming off a year where he set an Ohio State record for the most 100-yard receiving games with 15 such games in his three-year career with the Buckeyes.

During his career, Harrison Jr. has become recognized as one of college football's top receivers, leading Ohio State in all meaningful receiving categories such as receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Nationally, Harrison Jr. is tied second in touchdowns and ninth in yards.

Harrison Jr. is also a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award, Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.

Troy Smith was the last Buckeye to win college football's top award in 2006. Six Buckeyes have won the Heisman, with Archie Griffin winning it twice.

If Harrison Jr. wins, he would be the first Ohio State wide receiver to win the award.

The winner of the Heisman Trophy will be announced Saturday night.

List of all Ohio State Heisman winners:

  • Troy Smith, QB, 2006
  • Eddie George, RB, 1995
  • Archie Griffin, RB, 1974 and 1975
