*Denotes Northern Buckeye Conference game

Genoa has proven to be an annual contender when it comes to the Northern Buckeye Conference. They have not posted a losing season since COVID-19 and are six years removed from an undefeated conference championship in 2018.

Bill Fisher enters his third season as leader of the Comets and possesses a young group this fall. Yet, they are eager to continue tradition of this program set forth by prior teams.

"For us, it's a standard," senior Dom Lindenberger said. "We don't go into games doubting. We are held to expectations by a great coaching staff and our expectation is to win, beat the guy in front of you."

Four All-State talents are among the graduating class from last year, including the dynamic duo of QB Aiden Brunkhorst and RB Aidan Antry. Replacing them is hard to fathom, but it does provide opportunity for growth within the younger players.

"Everyone is ready for the challenge," senior Alex Spencer said. "We're pretty young but I'm pretty confident in the guys we've got. We have 22 guys who can put on a show for this team and I'm confident for the season."

Myles Mollenhauer, a sophomore who stands at 6-foot-2-inches and 164-pounds, has earned the position of starting quarterback and will gain valuable experience behind center. Same can be said for a multitude of players who will step into new roles in 2024.

Despite the youth, the Comets refuse to look at it as a step back but instead a "reload" type of mindset.

"Only time will tell, but we're excited for that," head coach Bill Fisher said. "I know we're going to have all the heart in the world and we're going to be ready to compete against anybody that lines up against us."
