BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Bowling Green High School has suspended Head Football Coach Josh Wade for the first round of playoffs and the week leading up to it for a "violation of internal district policy," district officials told WTOL 11 Monday.
"At no time was a student-athlete in any danger due to the behavior," district superintendent Ted Haselman said in a letter addressed to parents of the football team.
"Some recent actions of our head coach, Coach Wade, have been brought to our attention that do not align with the high standards of our district. The behavior goes against our internal policy," the letter reads.
"Actions have consequences ... With any disciplinary situation, we hope the outcome is a learning experience for those involved. Additionally, due to confidentiality we cannot disclose more than what is being stated in this letter. Mr. Wade will continue teaching in the classroom as assigned."
Wade has been the BGHS Head Football Coach for three years. He is also a history teacher at the high school.
Wade will not coach the Bobcats during their away game against Central Catholic, the No. 1-ranked team in Ohio, on Friday. Bowling Green will enter playoffs against the undefeated Fighting Irish with a 5-5 record.
