TOLEDO, Ohio — The Mud Hens aren't the only ones in Toledo who will be playing baseball at Fifth Third Field next summer.
Cosmic Baseball is making a stop in the Glass City for the Cosmic Takeover Tour on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025.
Cosmic Baseball was created by the Chili Peppers Baseball Organization and includes the use of black lights, fan engagement, music and "mind-bending special effects." The cosmic effect includes glowing bats, balls, jerseys and more.
The organization said the team's waitlist of over 50,000 fans created over a two-month span encouraged them to create the Cosmic Takeover Tour. The Chili Peppers asked fans what cities they should visit after announcing the 2025 tour in September and received an "overwhelming response" for Toledo.
“We are excited to bring history to Toledo and provide a never-before-seen atmosphere where fans not only see the experience but are part of the experience,” Chris Martin, owner of the Chili Peppers said.
“We are thrilled to be chosen as a stop for the Cosmic Takeover Tour,” Erik Ibsen, executive vice president and general manager of the Toledo Mud Hens said. “We cannot wait for our fans to come and be a part of this amazing experience.”
Fifth Third Field will be one of seven stops along the tour in 2025. The only way to guarantee tickets to the game is to register through the ticket lottery at this link.
