DALLAS — A Holland, Ohio native is taking the big stage this month in the game of wiffle ball. That’s right… wiffle ball. The backyard game with the plastic bat and ball you probably played as a child.
Dallas Allen has played four seasons in Major League Wiffle Ball.
It's a journey that started in his own backyard where he learned to play the sport during family gatherings.
Allen plays with the Eastern Eagles, based out of Michigan.
The team is playing in the league's world series this month at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Wiffle ball has given Dallas the chance to play on the same turf as the N-F-L team that inspired his name.
"I kind of freaked out, because that's my favorite football team,” said Dallas. “I was named after the Dallas Cowboys, so it gave me a little bit more motivation to get there. Hopefully we can get the job done. Get that world series title."
The Eastern Eagles lead their series with the Pacific Predators having won game one 3-0 on Friday.
The teams face off in Texas for game two on November 12th.
