TOLEDO, Ohio โ When you know, you know. That's the mentality Toledo Christian's Kendall Braden possessed throughout her recruitment process before ultimately deciding where to play basketball in college.
That moment came on July 1 when the Eagles star knew she wanted to continue her career on the University of Toledo's court.
"It feels great, I love the feeling of just being committed," Braden said. "I know what's next after my last high school season."
Braden is a big addition for the Rockets, given she has had 17 Division I offers, six of which were in the MAC.
The 5 foot, 8 inch guard is coming off her best year in high school as a junior, where she averaged more than 22 points per game and earned 1st team All-Ohio. Braden netted that honor after helping lead Toledo Christian to the Division IV State Championship game in Dayton last season.
"For now, the job is to focus on high school and get right back to Dayton and win that State Championship," Braden said. "Then it's on to college. All of this work and everything, it's going forward to the University of Toledo."
Now, she heads into her final year at TC both committed and newly motivated following her most recent decision.
"It just felt like the right thing to do. I was so happy when I went to the official visit with the University of Toledo," Braden said. "I just knew it was the fit for me and I wanted everyone to know because I was so happy."
