TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Mud Hens have declared themselves the International League Champions for this season--or, more accurately, the season that never was.
The Minor League Baseball season has been canceled for this year, but by calling "dibs!", the Hens are the champions. They have an undefeated record in 2020, after all.
More importantly, they have the shirts to prove it.
It's only fair, right?
The limited-edition shirts commemorating the first time the Hens have gone undefeated in their 124-year history can be purchased online through the Swamp Shop, as the physical location at the ballpark is currently closed.
Buy one and you can even brag you were there for every game played.
The MiLB has yet to officially acknowledge the champs, but those are minor details.
Plan the post-pandemic victory parade. We'll be there.
