TOLEDO, Ohio — For local Wolverine fans, national championship merchandise will be available for purchase in west Toledo if Michigan takes home the title.
The Dick's Sporting Goods in the Franklin Park Mall will reopen after the CFP national championship game to sell championship merchandise if the Maize and Blue are victorious, the mall announced on social media Monday afternoon.
"Dick’s will reopen after the game until 2am to offer only CHAMPIONSHIP MERCHANDISE," the post reads.
The store will close for only five hours before opening again at 7 a.m.
The game kicked off at Houston's NRG Stadium at officially kicked off at 7:45 p.m. ET and is expected to end after 11 p.m.
WTOL 11 has live updates for the much-anticipated matchup between the top-ranked Wolverines and the No. 2 Huskies, both 14-0.
The merchandise will be highly sought after if goes Michigan's way as the team has not been to or won a national title game since 1997, and the 2023 season has been a rollercoaster for the Ann Arbor powerhouse that saw the Wolverines take down Alabama in 27-20 overtime thriller in the Rose Bowl.
The Rose Bowl was also the first victory for Michigan in the College Football Playoff era, having lost the previous two seasons to Georgia and TCU in the semifinals.
It is not known what will happen to the merchandise if Michigan loses to Washington.
