CLEVELAND — The Browns' full 2024 schedule is out, and the word "backloaded" could certainly apply here.
We already knew Cleveland would open the regular season at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 8, with Tom Brady making his television debut as part of "America's Game of the Week" on Fox. We also learned earlier Wednesday that the Browns would not be featured in any of the NFL's international games, despite rumors of a London battle against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Instead, the Cowboys game appears to be their only real marquee matchup during the first half of the regular season schedule. However, the second half is loaded, with four prime-time games, four AFC North games, and even a meeting with the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Here's how the 17-game slate shakes out:
- Week 1 - Sept. 8: vs. Dallas Cowboys, 4:25 p.m. (Fox)
- Week 2 - Sept. 15: @ Jacksonville Jaguars, 1 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 3 - Sept. 22: vs. New York Giants, 1 p.m. (Fox)
- Week 4 - Sept. 29: @ Las Vegas Raiders, 4:25 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 5 - Oct. 6: @ Washington Commanders, 1 p.m. (Fox)
- Week 6 - Oct. 13: @ Philadelphia Eagles, 1 p.m. (Fox)
- Week 7 - Oct. 20: vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 1 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 8 - Oct. 27: vs. Baltimore Ravens, 1 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 9 - Nov. 3: vs. Los Angeles Chargers, 1 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 10: BYE
- Week 11 - Nov. 17: @ New Orleans Saints, 1 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 12 - Nov. 21: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, 8:15 p.m. ("Thursday Night Football" on Amazon Prime Video)
- Week 13 - Dec. 2: @ Denver Broncos, 8:15 p.m. ("Monday Night Football" on ESPN)
- Week 14 - Dec. 8: @ Pittsburgh Steelers, 1 p.m. (CBS)
- Week 15 - Dec. 15: vs. Kansas City Chiefs, 1 p.m. (CBS)

- Week 17 - Dec. 29: vs. Miami Dolphins, 8:20 p.m. ("Sunday Night Football" on NBC)
- Week 18 - TBD: @ Baltimore Ravens (TBD)
To celebrate, the team and its players produced a special bowling-themed reveal video, featuring a cameo from legendary kingpin Pete Weber.
If it stands, it will be the most prime-time games the Browns have played since 2019, when they were also under the lights four times. However, the number could potentially fall or even rise, with each night game except the Week 12 tilt against the Steelers subject to possibly being flexed by the league to a different time.
As Cleveland finished second in the division last year, their schedule gets a little tougher on paper, with draws against Jacksonville, New Orleans, and Miami this time around. The Week 17 game against the Dolphins would air right here on WKYC and be the first for the team on "Sunday Night Football" since 2021.
The NFL's scheduling formula also means the Browns will face the entire AFC West this season, giving them their first trip to Las Vegas since the Raiders moved there in 2020. It also means the mighty Chiefs will be in town come December, which will also mean a homecoming for Cleveland Heights hero Travis Kelce (along with a potential appearance from his significant other, Ms. Swift).
Cleveland is seeking back-to-back playoff berths for the first time since 1989, when the club ended a run of five straight appearances. Of their 17 games in 2024, only eight will be against teams who made the postseason a year ago, although four of those will take place over the last seven weeks.
In addition, the Browns' preseason schedule was also released, with all three games taking place on Saturdays and airing on WEWS Channel 5:
- Aug. 10: vs. Green Bay Packers, 4:25 p.m.
- Aug. 17: vs. Minnesota Vikings, 4:25 p.m.
- Aug. 24: @ Seattle Seahawks, 7 p.m.
