DETROIT — It was an emotional scene Sunday night after the Detroit Lions won their first playoff game since 1991, beating Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams, 24-23.
A moment 32 years in the making, the win couldn't have been sweeter for fans and Detroit quarterback Jared Goff. He was traded from the Rams to the Lions in exchange for Stafford who spent 12 seasons with the Lions.
Goff walked away with a passing touchdown on 22-for-27 passing, but most importantly, the win and a chance to host another playoff game at Ford Field.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell, known for impassioned locker room speeches, delivered once again after the game as he talked to players and staff after the win.
The Lions will host the Buccaneers or Eagles at Ford Field on Sunday, Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. on NBC. Another win would put them into the NFC Championship game.
