TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor's note: The above video initially aired Sept. 19, 2023.
Toledo residents have 26 opportunities this year to take advantage of Clean Toledo's free Drop-Off Refuse and Recycling events.
These free events allow safe disposal of items that normally might be difficult to take care of, recycle or are otherwise not accepted during curbside residential trash services.
"The city is able to bring you an opportunity to each neighborhood throughout the whole season," Dennis Kennedy, Urban Beautification Commissioner, said. "We do this 26 times where we try to get as close to the end of the people's driveways as possible to say, we will take whatever you have."
New this year, the list of acceptable items now includes air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers and other large appliances.
Boat shrink wrap will be collected at three locations.
