TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - National Weather Service meteorologists from Northern Indiana have confirmed that a tornado touched down in southern Van Wert County on Monday. The damage surveyed southwest of Ohio City has proven an EF1 tornado did cause the damage there.
The tornado formed near the intersection of Walnut Grove road and Alspach road and stayed on the ground for nearly four miles.
The winds were estimated at around 93 miles per hour. The tornado reached a width of no more than 100 yards.
Additional surveys are being conducted to gather more data.
