TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - One inmate has died after being attacked last Thursday by three other inmates at the Toledo Correctional Institution. According to the Lucas County Coroner's Office, inmate Brad Hamlin was strangled to death.
The report says Hamlin appeared to be held down during the assault due to bruising on his upper torso and legs.
Hamlin was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries and died the next day. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating it as a homicide.
"We're about protecting life and that's when someone has lost their life that obviously we're going to take the upmost concern when we're handling the investigation," said Lt. Jon Altman with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
No one has been charged at this point.
