Mercy St. Charles Hospital set to open Behavioral Health Facility in March

Representatives from Mercy St. Charles say, judging by the demand in the community right now, they anticipate being at full-capacity most of the time.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Mercy St. Charles Hospital is opening a Behavioral Health Facility next month as part of their commitment to those with behavioral health issues.

The building is a 64,000 square foot institute with 90 beds and five observation rooms.

Representatives from Mercy St. Charles say, judging by the demand in the community right now, they anticipate being at full-capacity most of the time.

Mercy St. Charles' Chief Operating Officer is hopeful that residents in the surrounding communities will benefit from the new investment.

“I hope they're just as excited about it as we are. And that the folks realize that this is a place where folks that are in that fragile state of needing behavioral services can come to a healing environment, get better, come to a place that offers a full continuum of care, going from inpatient to outpatient services under one location and being treated by the same care team,” said Jeff Dempsey, President and COO of Mercy St. Charles Hospital.

The facility is set to open at the end of March.
