TOLEDO, Ohio — One person is dead after a crash in central Toledo early Monday morning.
The crash happened on N. Detroit Ave near Delaware around 2:50 a.m.
Police say 27-year-old Parish Wimberly was driving a Chevy Impala at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle, jumped a curb and hit multiple poles before flipping over.
Wimberly was trapped and needed to be extricated by rescue crews. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.
Toledo Edison crews are on the scene to fix the pole.
N. Detroit Ave. was closed due to the crash but has since reopened.
The crash is under investigation.
