HILLSDALE COUNTY, Mich. — The Hillsdale County Sheriff's Office has released the names of two of their deputies who were involved in a crash Wednesday night.

Police say the deputies were riding in the same patrol car when they got into the crash with another vehicle.

On Thursday afternoon, the sheriff's office released the names and conditions of the deputies, one of whom was airlifted from the scene to the hospital, as was the female driver of the other vehicle.

Deputy Daun Rubin and Deputy Wes Ludeker were involved in a traffic crash in Cambria Township, the sheriff's office said. Rubin was transported by Reading Emergency Unit to Hillsdale Hospital where she was treated and released. Ludeker was airlifted to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he has undergone surgeries for his injuries.

The crash happened on South Hillsdale Road at Bear Lake Road.

Hillsdale County Sheriff Timothy Parker asks "for your continued prayers for our deputies along with the other female driver involved in this crash. We apologize but we do not have any updates we can release on her condition as the Michigan State Police – Jackson Post is investigating this crash."

South Hillside Road was closed for a time due to the crash but is again open for normal traffic.
