TOLEDO, Ohio — A busy intersection in south Toledo will be closing for reconstruction beginning Saturday, Oct. 5.
The city said the intersection of South Avenue and Broadway Street, including Congress Street and Frank Street, will be closed for four to five weeks as corridor construction on Broadway continues.
The city said to use Western Avenue to the Anthony Wayne Trail as a detour.
According to the city, the traffic pattern will shift on Broadway Street starting Oct. 5 to provide one lane for outbound traffic away from downtown and one lane for on-street parking.
The city said pavement and curb removal will begin on the inbound lane and sidewalk installation from South Avenue to Stebbins Street will continue.
According to the city's website, the Broadway Street corridor construction is expected to be complete in the summer of 2025.
