TOLEDO, Ohio — Editor's note: the above video first aired Feb. 6 and is regarding a proposed project in Oregon.
A section of Central Avenue in west Toledo will close at the end of the month for approximately 150 days.
The Ohio Department of Transportation is replacing the bridge on Central between Reynolds and Corey roads. The bridge is over the Ottawa River near Wildwood Metropark.
Construction will begin Feb. 27. The proposed detour is to take I-475 around the project.
The existing bridge was built in 1928 and widened in 1975. It is considered functionally obsolete.
The new bridge will feature four lanes of traffic with a turning lane in the middle. There will also be a sidewalk and multiuse path.
