MAUMEE, Ohio — A main road in Maumee has been shut down just north of the city’s downtown after a large water main break flooded the road.
The leak occurred in the 1000 block of Conant St, near the railroad tracks and Long John Silvers.
The Maumee Police Division posted video of the road buckled and spewing water at multiple locations.
Police say Conant St. will be closed until at least noon on Monday as crews work to fix the leak.
Maumee Mayor Rich Carr says the water main break is a symptom of a decades old infrastructure that still exists in some parts of the city.
"We are continuing to address the problems of the sewer system that in parts of our city is over 100 years old. This break will not impact water bills," said Mayor Carr.
