A 19-year-old and 30-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene after crashing into the rear of a stopped semi-truck.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Two people were killed in a crash on I-280 southbound Wednesday morning, Toledo police confirmed.

Crews responded to the Veterans' Glass City Skyway bridge before 8 a.m. A press release said that a semi-truck was stopped on the right side of I-280 southbound, about 100 yards south of the Front Street exit ramp.

Police said a silver sedan driven by Joslyn Jones, 19, crashed into the rear of the semi-truck. Jones and the passenger of the car, Jessee Petit, 30, were pronounced dead at the scene.

TPD said they continue to investigate the crash.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation OHGO website, all lanes of I-280 southbound from Greenbelt Parkway to Front Street were closed at the time of the crash.
