Three-vehicle crash on I-75 delayed afternoon travel; driver sustains non-life-threatening injuries

A driver lost control of his vehicle, striking a semi tractor-trailer and another vehicle before going off the road, hitting a median and overturning.

WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — Crews responded to the scene of a three-vehicle crash on I-75 southbound Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the crash occurred on I-75 south near Dunbridge, just north of SR 582 shortly before 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A 27-year-old driver from Toledo abruptly changed lanes and lost control of his vehicle while heading southbound on I-75, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The driver struck the side of a semi tractor-trailer and then hit another vehicle in the middle lane. Both vehicles left the road and struck a median cable.

The Toledo driver's vehicle overturned in the median. The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, OSHP said.
