2 people hospitalized in I-475 crash; interstate reopen

All lanes on I-475 west of the I-475/I-75 split near U.S. 25 reopened about four hours after the collision, a semi rollover crash, happened.

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Two people were hospitalized after a crash on I-475 in Perrysburg closed the roadway in both directions Friday, according to the city of Perrysburg and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

All lanes on I-475 west of the I-475/I-75 split near U.S. 25 reopened about four hours after the collision, a semi rollover crash, happened.

The semi truck driver and another person were the two people hospitalized. First responders from Maumee, Perrysburg and Perrysburg Township responded to the scene.

The semi was hauling steel pieces and 70 gallons of diesel fuel and hydraulic fluid were spilled, city of Perrysburg spokesperson Marie Dunn said. Responding crews found minimal fluid leaks and that the fuel and hydraulic tanks were still intact.

She also said that while the steel pieces on the interstate were cleaned up, "there are still many pieces left on the hillside that will be cleaned up at a later time."

A representative from the city of Perrysburg's public utility office will also assess the crash's impact on the environment.
