WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — An accident sent one person to the hospital and snarled traffic in the area of Ohio 420 and Libbey Road in Lake Township on Monday afternoon.
According to Officer Ron Craig with Lake Township Police, one person was taken to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, with no word given on a condition.
Motorists were advised to avoid the entire area, though traffic was starting to move again around 5:15 p.m.
The accident that closed State Route 420 south at Libbey Road also caused a big back-up on I-280 southbound. The left lane was also blocked on State Route 420 North due to this crash.
The traffic mess extended to Lemoyne Road as motorists avoiding I-280 created congestion there.
