PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Some residents are without power in Perrysburg Township after a crash involving a dump truck and electrical wires Wednesday afternoon.
The power outage is in the area of SR-795 and Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township and was caused by a crash involving a dump truck and electrical wires, authorities said.
The crash has prompted the closure of a portion of Oregon Road. The Oregon Road entrance to Friendly Village South will be closed through the night, police said, and residents should use the Tracy Road entrance instead.
"Our crews are on scene working to repair a broken pole and downed wire on Oregon Rd in Perrysburg," a spokesperson for FirstEnergy said in a statement to WTOL 11. "The outage is currently affecting about 275 customers and we are working to restore them as safely and quickly as possible."
Repairs involve installing a new pole and wires, according to police.
It is unclear what may have caused the initial crash or if there are any injuries involved.
