ELMORE, Ohio — A serious crash has slowed the Ohio Turnpike eastbound near Elmore in Sandusky Co late Thursday night.
Eastbound lanes were entirely closed at mile marker 77, just past the exit for Elmore, Woodville and Gibsonburg, around 11:30 p.m.
One eastbound lane is open to keep traffic slowly moving through the area.
Dispatchers couldn't provide any details on whether anyone was injured in the crash or how many vehicles were involved. Our WTOL 11 crew at the scene said it appeared two to three semis were involved in the crash.
Drivers should seek a different route.
Editor's note: OSHP dispatch initially reported the closure was all lanes westbound, however, our WTOL 11 crew on the scene confirms the lane closures are heading east.
