TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices in the Toledo area have dropped 19 cents over the last week, an analyst for GasBuddy says.
A gallon of gas costs, on average, $3.00 in Toledo as of Monday, according to a GasBuddy survey of 315 gas stations. Prices at the pump are now 10.5 cents lower than a month ago.
The GasBuddy survey found the cheapest station in Toledo was priced at $2.45/gallon, while the most expensive was $3.29/gallon. Statewide, the range was $2.45/gallon to $3.79/gallon from least expensive to most expensive.
Nationally, Toledo gas prices are below the rest of the country. In a survey of 150,000 gas stations across the U.S. the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.13, a figure that has went down 11 cents from a month ago, according to GasBuddy.
The national average price of diesel unchanged from last week standing at $3.54/gallon.
"In addition to the escalation in the Middle East, hurricane season remains active, with Hurricane Milton now heading toward a likely landfall in Florida. For now, motorists in most areas can expect to see more increases in gas prices primarily due to tensions in the Middle East, but I remain hopeful that a $2.99 national average remains possible this fall, " said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Toledo on Oct. 7 is significantly cheaper than it has been in the last four years:
- Oct. 7, 2023: $3.31/g (U.S. Average: $3.69/g)
- Oct. 7, 2022: $3.96/g (U.S. Average: $3.90/g)
- Oct. 7, 2021: $3.10/g (U.S. Average: $3./g)
- Oct. 7, 2020: $2.14/g (U.S. Average: $2.18/g)
