The average price of diesel also rose, climbing 2 cents over last week.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices in the Toledo area increased 23.6 cents over the last week.

A gallon of gas costs, on average, $3.40 in Toledo as of Monday, according to a GasBuddy survey of 315 gas stations. The price is also now 24 cents higher than it was a month ago.

The GasBuddy survey found the cheapest station in Toledo was priced at $3.03/gallon, while the most expensive was $3.51/gallon. Statewide, the range was $2.72/gallon to $4.45/gallon from least expensive to most expensive.

Nationally, Toledo gas prices are below the rest of the country. In a survey of 150,000 gas stations cross the U.S. the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.51, a figure that has increased 27 cents from a month ago, according to GasBuddy.

The national average price of diesel increased 2 cents in the last week and stands at $4.02/gallon.

The average price of a gallon of gas in Toledo on March 25, 2024 is the second highest it has been on this date since 2020:

  • March 25, 2023: $3.21/g (U.S. Average: $3.42/g)
  • March 25, 2022: $4.08/g (U.S. Average: $4.24/g)
  • March 25, 2021: $2.52/g (U.S. Average: $2.86/g)
  • March 25, 2020: $1.68/g (U.S. Average: $2.03/g)

"We've now seen the national average price of gasoline rising for four straight weeks, which isn't uncommon for this time of year," GasBuddy head of petroleum analysis Patrick De Haan said in the weekly report. "What is uncommon is the number of attacks on Russian oil refiners; attacks which could have ripple effects worldwide if they continue. Russia could see more capacity impacted by the attacks, forcing it to buy such products on the global market, pushing prices up everywhere.

"With oil prices now under more pressure and attacks potentially increasing on Russian refiners, we could be in for a few more weeks of rising prices. Significant as well is the fact that Americans are now seeing inflation again at the pump with prices higher than they were a year ago."
