TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices in the Toledo area have dropped nearly 23 cents over the last week, an analyst for GasBuddy says.
A gallon of gas costs, on average, $2.88 in Toledo as of Monday, according to a GasBuddy survey of 315 gas stations. Prices at the pump are now 22 cents lower than a month ago.
The GasBuddy survey found the cheapest station in Toledo was priced at $2.49/gallon, while the most expensive was $3.77/gallon. Statewide, the range was $2.43/gallon to $3.77/gallon from least expensive to most expensive.
Nationally, Toledo gas prices are similar to the rest of the country. In a survey of 150,000 gas stations across the U.S. the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.13, a figure that fell 3 cents compared to last month, according to GasBuddy.
The national average price of diesel dropped 1 cent in the last week and now stands at $3.56/gallon.
The average price of a gallon of gas in Toledo on Oct. 21 is the lowest its been in three years:

- Oct. 21, 2022: $3.80/g (U.S. Average: $3.80/g)
- Oct. 21, 2021: $3.23/g (U.S. Average: $3.36/g)
- Oct. 21, 2020: $1.94/g (U.S. Average: $2.16/g)
"I'm hopeful that the downward trend will continue again this week for a majority of Americans as we see the average price of gasoline start to make a targeted effort to fall below the $3/gal mark for the first time since 2021," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
