TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices in Toledo have risen 17 cents in the last week, according to a GasBuddy survey of 315 gas stations in Toledo.

Prices in Toledo are 5.8 cents higher than a month ago and stand 51.8 cents lower than a year ago. The cheapest gas station in Toledo was priced at $2.94, while the most expensive was priced at $3.39, a difference of 45 cents per gallon.

The overall national average is down 24.8 cents from a month ago and stands about 42.6 cents lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy data. The average price for diesel has climbed 4 cents in the last week and now stands at $4.34.

The results of GasBuddy's annual Thanksgiving Travel Survey reveal that more Americans plan to hit the road for the holiday. 41% of respondents said they plan to take a road trip this year, an 8% increase from 2022.

Additionally, the national average price of gas is projected to drop to $3.25 per gallon, saving Americans $573 million during holiday travel compared to last year.

"As motorists turn their attention to Thanksgiving, they certainly can be thankful for the decline in gasoline prices, which has now reached eight straight weeks. GasBuddy counts 11 states where average prices are below $3 per gallon, with several more to join this week. Even in California, the nation's most expensive gasoline average will fall below $5 in the next 48 hours," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.

"Gasoline demand has struggled in recent weeks, falling not only due to the seasonal nature, as Americans drive less as the weather gets colder, but it appears there may be some economic headwinds entering the equation as well."
