TOLEDO, Ohio — A ramp leading from westbound I-475 to northbound US 23 was closed for several hours due to a semi-truck rollover crash Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at approximately 10:05 a.m., according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Qualid Maafa, 54, of Indianapolis, was driving the semi-truck too fast for the curve, lost control, went off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned, blocking the entire ramp, OSHP said.

Maafa suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was cited with reckless operation. According to OSHP, impaired driving does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

The highway patrol said the driver was hauling paper products and there are no environmental concerns stemming from the crash.
