LUNA PIER, Mich. — The Luna Pier Road bridge at I-75 in Michigan is set to be taken down and the interstate will be shut down in both directions at the roadway for the weekend.
I-75 will close at 7 p.m. on Friday and reopen by 7 a.m. on Monday for the Michigan Department of Transportation to demolish the bridge, according to Luna Pier police.
Traffic will exit the interstate at the Luna Pier exits, proceed unobstructed across Luna Pier Road and then return to I-75 via the entrance ramp.
Luna Pier Road will also close Friday and will have a targeted reopening on July 1, according to MDOT.
Police also said "there may be intermittence closures of the entrance and exit ramps on both sides of the freeway."
