OTTAWA LAKE, Mich — Authorities were on the scene of a crash in Monroe County Friday morning after an injury crash.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Memorial Highway and Green Road around 5 a.m. in Ottawa Lake, and has since caused the roadway to be closed. The crash is near the Ohio-Michigan state line.
Michigan State Police confirmed to WTOL 11 the crash was a side-swipe crash involving two vehicles. The vehicles collided in the intersection. One of the vehicles caught on fire, but the fire has since been extinguished.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital. One driver was possibly ejected from the vehicle, law enforcement said, but the driver told authorities he does not remember getting out of the car.
Both drivers were conscious when they were transported to the hospital.
Tow trucks were on the scene to remove the vehicles. The roadway has since reopened.
