OSHP: Pursuit ends in crash involving Oak Harbor police officer and Ottawa Co. Sheriff's deputy

OTTAWA COUNTY, Ohio — According to the Sandusky post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, officers responded to a report of a crash shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday night at SR-19 and Salem-Carroll Road.

An Oak Harbor police officer was in pursuit of a vehicle. The suspect's vehicle turned on to Salem-Carroll Road. The Oak Harbor officer turned to follow and was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by an Ottawa County Sheriff's deputy providing back-up during the pursuit. 

The Oak Harbor officer's vehicle rolled once and the deputy's vehicle spun out as a result.

Both the officer and deputy were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to OSHP, the location of the suspect involved in the pursuit is currently unknown. 

An investigation is ongoing.
