ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio — One person is dead and ten others were taken to the hospital after a nine-vehicle crash on I-75 south of Lima on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened around 12:25 p.m. in Allen County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a semi truck being driven by 75-year-old Dale Anglin of Vermilion was driving south on I 75 as he approached a traffic that had slowed down due to a separate accident.
That’s when Mr. Anglin’s truck struck several vehicles, eventually causing nine vehicles to be involved.
A 64-year-old man from Fairfield, Ohio, who was a rear seat passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene.
Police say ten people were taken to the hospital and eleven others were treated at the scene.
Southbound lanes on I-75 had to be closed for much of the day.
