Man, 9-months pregnant woman and unborn child killed in two-vehicle crash in Seneca County

The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of State Route 18 and Township Road 15 in Clinton Township.

SENECA COUNTY, Ohio — Two people, one of whom was a 9-months pregnant woman, were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Seneca County on Aug. 27. The unborn child also did not survive the crash.

The crash happened just after 12:30 p.m. on State Route 18 at the Township Road 15 intersection in Clinton Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said John Adcock III, 46, of Fremont, was traveling south on Township Road 15, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a vehicle driven by Sarah Law, 25, of Republic who was driving eastbound on State Route 18.

OSHP said Adcock's vehicle struck a traffic sign and overturned into a field in the southeast corner of the intersection. Law's vehicle also struck a traffic sign and came to rest in the same field.

According to OSHP, Destiny Stines, 28, of Fremont, who was a passenger in Adcock's vehicle, was killed in the crash after being ejected from the vehicle. Stines' obituary noted she was 9 months pregnant with a baby girl to be named A'stajah Bianca, who was due to be delivered on Sept. 3.

OSHP said Adcock and Chavis Freeman, 40, of Fremont, another passenger in Adcock's vehicle, were also both ejected from the vehicle and flown to area hospitals with serious injuries. OSHP later said Freeman died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Law was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Freeman was the father of A'stajah, according to Stines' obituary.

According to OSHP, Stines, Adcock and Freeman were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
