MAUMEE, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) states that it plans to reopen the ramp from eastbound U.S. 24 to southbound I-475 on Thursday, June 6.
The interchange initially closed in March as part of the I-475 widening project. An ODOT spokesperson confirmed work on the ramp is nearing completion.
The update will allow drivers heading toward from Maumee to access I-475 southbound toward Perrysburg.
However, ODOT said it will need to close the ramp from southbound I-475 to westbound U.S. 24 for 60 days to begin work on that interchange, on Thursday, June 6.
"It will get a little easier for southbound drivers coming from Maumee because they will be able to go to Fallen Timbers Lane and flip around to get on from eastbound," ODOT public information officer Kelsie Hoagland said. "However the functionality of the clover loops will not be restored yet."
The entrance ramp from westbound U.S. 24 to southbound I-475 is scheduled to remain closed through August.
According to ODOT, the traffic shift on U.S. 24 will lead to adjustments to the locations of the ramps from Airport Highway. The state transportation agency said the exit location for exits 8B and 8A will remain in the same position, north of the railroad bridge.
ODOT explained that drivers should expect brief closures during adjustments to all southbound ramps.
