ALERT DAY: 3 things to know about Wednesday's freezing rain and ice

The greatest impacts will be felt in southeast Michigan.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The WTOL 11 Weather team has issued an ALERT DAY for Wednesday. Here are three things you need to know:

1. There is a risk of freezing rain and ice accumulations along with soaking cold rain. Rain and freezing rain will arrive Wednesday morning. 

2. The greatest ice potential will be north of U.S. 24 into southeast Michigan. Impacts to travel will be possible. 

3. Widespread soaking and steady cold rain will be expected for the rest of the area. Expect an inch to two inches of rainfall through Wednesday afternoon. Finally, along with the ice and heavier rain potential, increasing wind gusts into the afternoon may reach 35 mph.
